About Me

Hi, my name is Mariam and I'm the admin of the Globetrotter's Gazette. Ever since I was young, I've had the privilege of being able to travel and explore much of the world. Although I live in the UK, my family is from Egypt, with my dad's side of the family now residing in Dubai. This meant many trips to Cairo and Dubai growing up to be able to see my family. I think because of this, I've developed a huge love for travelling.

Over the last 16 years I've been able to travel to all the continents besides Antartica (I really hate the cold). Immersing myself into different cultures, exploring new sights and trying new foods are what I look forward to most on my travels! Nowadays, I find myself travelling mostly to Finland, as my partner is Finnish and currently resides in the capital, Helsinki. Because of the long distance, we have often also travelled mid-way between the two of us, leading me to visit Denmark and Czech Republic in recent years! Japan is also another country I seem to frequent often, so far a total of three times (and we're not done yet).

I created this blog to be able to share my experiences with others, almost like an online diary. But I thought "Why not let others share their experiences with me?" And thus, the Globetrotter's Gazette was born. I hope you can join me here by sharing your stories too for others to get inspired. Enjoy your time here!
