My first visit to Dublin

Written by mariam138

I recently got to spend 3 days in Ireland's capital, Dublin, along with a friend of mine. I was excited as I'd never been to Dublin before!

The trip started off great, while waiting for our accommodation to get ready, we headed to literally the first cafe we found to eat lunch - a Tex Mex cafe. By far it was the best burrito I've ever eaten and I was very shocked to be having it in Dublin of all places. Later on the first day after we checked in, we visited a local nearby Church and got a brief introduction into the history between the Catholic and Protestant churches.

The next day was when we had booked to go to the Guinness tour, and let me tell you that I did not expect to have as much fun as I did as a non-drinker. I was fully expecting the tour to just be a simple underground cellar with some barrels of beer and call it a day - I was absolutely wrong. It was a whole experience learning the history and the science behind how a Guinness was made from start to finish in a gorgeous, modernised museum. We also got a free (non-alcoholic) Guinness to try (would never try again 0/10).

Our final day we spent at Dublin castle which had the most beautiful sites and beautiful history. I'm not a huge history lover but I could really appreciate the history of Ireland while going through the castle. We had a quick stop at LadureƩ for some afternoon tea and a snack, where we shared Raspberry and Lychee french toast - delicious! We then ended the day with a walk to the River Liffey before heading back to our accommodation to get ready for an early flight back.

Overall our trip to Dublin was short but sweet, I recommend it to anyone to go and visit if you can!
